NEWS | FromSoftware Unveils First Gameplay Trailer for Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S. have released the first gameplay trailer for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, showcasing intense mecha action. 

Fires of Rubicon is the latest high-octane action game developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S., combining their 25 years of experience in developing the Armored Core franchise and action games in the Elden Ring and Dark Souls franchise. The game promises fast-paced battles, in-depth customisation, and thrilling boss fights.

The game is set on a remote planet called Rubicon 3, where a mysterious substance called "Coral" was discovered. Expected to dramatically advance humanity's technological and communications capabilities, the substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System. Almost half a century later, Coral has resurfaced on Rubicon 3, which is now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe. The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themselves in a struggle over the substance with corporations and other factions.

The game features highly mobile and customisable mechas, allowing players to make full use of offensive and defensive manoeuvres on both lands and in the air to overcome foes. The gameplay trailer highlights these elements, as players must master rapidly changing combat distances, use the environment for protective cover, and engage in omnidirectional battles to overcome challenging enemies and situations.

The game will be part of PlayStation Free Upgrade and Xbox Smart Delivery. With pre-orders available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, players can gear up for the global launch on August 25th. — Geeks Republika
