NEWS | Definitive Edition of Rune Factory 4 Coming to the Switch on February 25
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, January 24, 2020 - Rune Factory 4 Special is finally arriving to the Nintendo Switch with the definitive edition launching next month.
At launch Rune Factory 4 Special will also receive the “Another Episode” DLC for free from the Nintendo eShop until March 26, 2020 after which it will be available for purchase at $4.99 from the eShop. This downloadable content adds illustrated stories for all 12 marriage candidates and will be presented fully voiced in English and Japanese.
To commemorate the definitive version, the beautifully crafted ‘Archival Edition’ includes an art book collecting character designer Minako Iwasaki’s work on the entire Rune Factory series, as well as new illustrations for the premium box and art book cover by the artist. ‘Archival Edition’ full contents include:
- Physical copy of Rune Factory 4 Special for Nintendo Switch
- 160-page art book measuring 5.8” x 8.2” featuring the works of Minako Iwasaki from Rune Factory 1 through 4, Rune Factory: Frontier, and Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, as well as promotional and comic art contributed by other artists
- Official soundtrack CD consisting of 33 tracks from the original release, plus 3 new tracks unique to Rune Factory 4 Special
- ‘Swimsuit Day’ DLC, a special in-game Order that will have all marriage candidates appear in their swimsuits
- Premium custom box with original illustration by Minako Iwasaki
In Rune Factory 4, player take the role of a prince or princess who mysteriously appeared after dropping from the skies. While there, the player can interact with townsfolk, grow vegetables and fruits at the farm, hook some fish, cook up a storm, raise monsters, and maybe even find friendship and love.
The Nintendo 3DS’s release of Rune Factory 4 has sold over 300,000 copies in North America alone as of the end of 2018, making it Marvelous USA's most successful titles of all time.
The game will launch on February 25, 2020 in the US with a release in Europe and Australia few days later. The "Archival Edition" is available to pre-order from here while the standard edition can be pre-ordered here.
