NEWS | NACON and Passtech Games Unveil Gameplay Video and Characters for Ravenswatch
NACON and Passtech Games have released the first gameplay video for their new cooperative roguelite game, Ravenswatch. Inspired by tales and legends from all over the world, Ravenswatch invites up to four players to join the Ravenswatch team to confront the hordes of Nightmares that are corrupting the world of Reverie.
The first chapter of the game will be available to play on Early Access on Steam from 6 April 2023, with a full release scheduled for 2024 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Ravenswatch features six playable characters based on famous folk tales and legends. The game's art design is inspired by Dark Comic Books and is accompanied by rousing music. The game will have procedurally generated environments and meta-progression for increased replay value, multiple synergies between the heroes via the party system, upgrades, and an extensive enemy bestiary.
The playable characters in Ravenswatch include Scarlet, who transforms into a werewolf during the day-night cycle, using two daggers and brutal strength to take on enemies. Franz, the Pied Piper of Hamelin, uses his instrument to control a swarm of rats to weaken enemies from range. Beowulf, based on the famous Goth king, is a formidable melee fighter who can summon his flying companion, a baby dragon, to boost his attacks and block enemy hordes. Nyss, inspired by the Snow Queen fairytale, uses her ice powers to glide freely around the battlefield and slow down enemies. Aladdin, the famous hero from One Thousand and One Nights, is an agile fighter who can grant a wish to override the outcome of a fight. Finally, Melusine, based on siren legends, uses a magic orb to fight from range and can dive into the ground to escape enemies.
Players can enjoy a complete RPG experience with quests, missions, bosses, dungeons, and loot to upgrade their characters and weaken the Nightmares.
