NEWS | Nintendo Switch – OLED Model with Legend of Zelda Design set to launch on April 28
NINTENDO has announced the launch of a new special edition Nintendo Switch – OLED Model featuring a design from the upcoming game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The new hardware will be available from April 28, with a suggested retail price of $359.99.
The new design includes the familiar Hylian Crest from the Legend of Zelda series on the front of the dock, while two accessories – a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and a Nintendo Switch carrying case, both with designs from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – will release separately on May 12, the day the game launches.
The announcement was made in a presentation by series producer Eiji Aonuma, who demonstrated new gameplay from the upcoming title, which is a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game offers players the ability to decide their own path through the landscapes of Hyrule and the islands floating above. Players will need to harness Link's new abilities to fight against malevolent forces that threaten the kingdom.
The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model offers a 7-inch OLED screen, an adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port (LAN cable sold separately), 64 GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio in handheld and tabletop mode. The system can be played in TV mode, handheld mode, and tabletop mode, making it versatile and well-suited for on-the-go multiplayer gaming sessions.
