NEWS | Rebirth Expansion Brings New Buildings and Upgrades to Surviving the Aftermath
PARADOX Interactive and Iceflake Studios have released the third expansion for their survival colony builder, Surviving the Aftermath. Titled Rebirth, the new expansion allows players to modify and revitalize the environment with terraforming while protecting its inhabitants from an infectious threat.
The expansion was unveiled during the Paradox Announcement Show 2023 and is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC at a suggested retail price of $14.99 USD / £12.79 / €14.99.
Rebirth challenges players to protect their restored world from the Blight, a fungal infestation that emerged after decades of radioactive contamination. To defend against it, players gather Blight samples, study them in a new research building, and unlock new buildings, resources, and upgrades. The Terraformer is a key tool that turns barren land into fertile soil, welcoming new life and vegetation, while players are also challenged to be aware of the blighted areas they terraform as these spawn blight monsters that attack survivors.
Rebirth introduces three new buildings, three building upgrades, and an all-new multi-stage Blight lab with its Research tree. The Purification post removes small pollution deposits and can be upgraded to an Extermination post to clear blighted nests, hives, and lairs. The Basic Terraformer turns the land into terraformed soil and can be upgraded to Advanced Terraformer. The Environmental Station becomes the Hazmat station, which can clear blight cores and stop creature attacks. Guard Posts have also received significant improvements and are more critical than ever when defending your colony.
The Surviving the Aftermath: Rebirth expansion is set to bring an exciting challenge for players to reclaim the planet and protect its inhabitants from the Blight. With its unique features, advanced facilities, and ability to terraform the environment, players are in for a thrilling and immersive gaming experience. — Geeks Republika
