NEWS | Retro pixel boss gauntlet Sacred Stone comes to Nintendo Switch next week


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, December 20, 2019 - Hardcore action adventure platformer Sacred Stones is landing for Nintendo Switch next week.

Arriving on December 23, 2019, fans of Cave Story can see the similarities in the graphics department but Sacred Stones brings a unique blend of retro-2D boss based gameplay. 

Sacred Stones tells the story of a the sky island where main character lives has started to descend. In order to prevent the catasrophe, the player must search for the whereabout of the sacred stone to keep his home afloat.


Players will face a gauntlet of giant animals and unknown creatures start to show up unexpectedly on the island and its up to the player to deal with this threat.

In the game, players gets to explore the pixelized world, gathering items and weapons to help guide you to victory.


The sensitive input controls complement the linear and challenging gameplay. You will find yourself jumping and  shooting and running and fighting your way to the end of the game as you learn uncover new weapons and areas across the map.

In addition, the switch version has added a choice of difficulty levels for the players unfamiliar with action games. The game supports languages in English, Japanese and Chinese as well as Korean.

Created by Sungjun Jo (NoxBix), Sacred Stones’s retro-feel comes from its appearance, its soundtrack (created by “.P”), and its gameplay.

This title won the first indie-star award in 2015. The game, which was released through Steam before, will be released globally on Nintendo Switch by CFK.
