NEWS | SEGA and LEGO Collaborate Again with New LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Product Range
Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog are in for a treat, as the LEGO Group and SEGA have announced their latest collaboration that brings the beloved video game characters and environments to life in brick form. The all-new “Sonic the Hedgehog” product range will be heading to authorized retailers in August 2023, featuring high-velocity obstacles and interactive elements that invite Sonic fans to create, build and play as their favourite characters.
The LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration includes four sets of varying sizes and complexities, inviting builders of all ages to construct unique courses, invent new storylines and reminisce on their treasured memories with the Blue Blur. These sets feature modular elements and unique toy accessories that offer role-playing opportunities, including spending time with Sonic’s famous friends, hanging out at the DJ deck, repairing the Tornado plane, and more.

The LEGO Sonic product range includes beloved levels from across the Sonic universe, such as Sonic’s Speed Sphere, Tails’ Workshop, Amy’s Animal Rescue Island, and the iconic Green Hill Zone. The sets also feature Sonic, Tails, Amy and Dr Eggman as playable characters, allowing fans to build and play as their favourite characters as they battle the Badniks and rescue their friends.
This product range furthers the collaborative efforts between SEGA and the LEGO Group, following the highly successful LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone set released in 2021. Frédéric Roland Andre, Designer at the LEGO Group, expressed his pride in the challenge of creating a dynamic and action-packed LEGO set for Sonic. He especially highlights the Speed Sphere as a favourite, as figuring out how to get Sonic to speed up and interact with each course was a challenge.
