NEWS | Nintendo Direct Unveils Metroid Prime Remastered and More
IN A RECENT Nintendo Direct video presentation, Nintendo announced the release of Metroid Prime Remastered, an HD remaster of the first Metroid Prime game for the Nintendo Switch. The digital version of the game is now available and a physical version will be available in stores on February 22nd. Watch the full video presentation below.
In addition to the release of Metroid Prime Remastered, Nintendo also announced the addition of select Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games to the Nintendo Switch Online service. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, was also featured in the video presentation and is set to launch for Nintendo Switch on May 12th.
The video presentation also revealed several new games from Nintendo’s development and publishing partners, including Disney Illusion Island, featuring Mickey and Friends in a 2D platformer-adventure, Samba de Amigo: Party Central, the classic rhythm game, Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie.
“2023 is shaping up to be yet another stellar year for Nintendo Switch players and anyone who’s eager to join the fun,” said Devon Pritchard, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications.
In addition to these new releases, the video presentation also showcased gameplay footage for Pikmin 4, which features a Space Dog, Ice Pikmin, and new discoveries. The game is set to launch on July 21st. — Geeks Republika
