NEWS | Destiny 2: Lightfall Expansion Launched on All Platforms Worldwide
BUNGIE has released the latest expansion of the Destiny 2 franchise, the Destiny 2: Lightfall on all platforms worldwide.
Lightfall, the penultimate chapter in Destiny 2’s ongoing Light & Darkness Saga offers a new sub-class power called Strand that allows players to pluck the threads that bind the universe together, granting powerful new attacks and mobility options. It also offers an exciting adventure where players are tasked to prevent the apocalypse by stopping Calus and its newest disciple, the Witness.
The Lightfall expansion will launch its latest raid, Root of Nightmares, on March 10 at 9 AM Pacific (17:00 UTC) shortly after the launch of Lightfall. The Root of Nightmares is a pinnacle aspirational activity designed for six skilled Guardians who want to be challenged for their fighting skills, teamwork, and ability to solve seemingly impossible challenges. It also kicks off Bungie's worldwide competition to crown the first fireteam in the world to complete the raid, with the winning team awarded one-of-a-kind World First title belts.
The expansion also introduces new social systems, including Commendations and Guardian Ranks, to encourage friendly play and teamwork and better help players understand the skill level and experience of others. Loadouts and Mod Customization features also make customizing a Guardian faster and easier than ever, with new mods viewable and placed via a single Mod Customization screen, and gear and mods saved into loadout slots accessible on the fly.
Destiny 2: Lightfall is set on Neptune's newest destination, the neon city of Neomuna, which is under siege by Calus’ Shadow Legion. The city is also home to the new heroic Cloud Striders, the newest allies of Guardians, who protect the city from invasion.
The Lightfall expansion offers a legendary campaign mode designed for players who want to experience the gripping narrative of Destiny 2’s latest storyline while challenging their skills and earning better rewards. It also features a new destination activity called Terminal Overload, where players will repel attacks from both the Vex and the Cabal to flood the Neptunian city with their forces. — Geeks Republika
