NEWS | Sonic Origins Plus: Ultimate Classic Sonic Collection Releasing in June 2023
SEGA has announced that Sonic Origins Plus, the ultimate Sonic the Hedgehog game collection, will be released on Sonic's birthday, June 23, 2023. The game builds upon the success of Sonic Origins, the collection of digital remastered classic Sonic games for current-generation platforms released in 2022.
Sonic Origins Plus offers all 12 Sonic games for the Game Gear, Amy as a playable character in Sonic The Hedgehog 1, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD, as well as Knuckles as a playable character in Sonic CD.
Players who already own Sonic Origins can purchase the Sonic Origins Plus expansion pack for $9.99 while the physical version is priced at $39.99 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch systems, and PC.
The physical version will include the main game, 12 emulated Game Gear games, classic Amy as a playable character in Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, 3, and Sonic CD, Knuckles as a playable character in Sonic CD, all previous DLCs for Sonic Origins, a 20-page artbook fan bonus, and a reversible cover with a brand-new design.
The digital version of Sonic Origins Plus will include the same content as the physical version. The Sonic Origins Plus expansion pack will include the same features as the box version but only as a DLC upgrade for Sonic Origins Plus.
SEGA has also released a trailer showcasing what fans can expect this summer with Sonic Origins Plus. The game includes 16 classic Sonic titles, with new graphics, animations, and improvements for current-generation platforms. Sonic fans can now play as Amy and Knuckles in various Sonic games.
Classic Mode offers the original Sonic games in retro look with classic challenges, while Anniversary Mode provides a full-screen display and infinite lives for carefree fun without game overs. — Geeks Republika
