NEWS | Explore Middle-Earth in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Launching on May 25

DAEDALIC Entertainment and NACON announced on Tuesday that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum video game will be available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 25, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for later this year.

Based on the popular J.R.R. Tolkien The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the game takes players on an adventure across Middle-earth, following the character of Gollum as he chases after the one thing he deems "precious." The game, developed by passionate Tolkienites at Daedalic Entertainment, is co-published by Daedalic Entertainment and NACON, in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game with a strong focus on storytelling, putting players in the shoes of Gollum as they make their way through the vast landscapes of Middle-earth.

Players must utilise Gollum's unique abilities, such as climbing, leaping, and sneaking, to navigate through the game's levels and avoid danger. The game's central mechanic is Gollum's internal struggle between his kinder Sméagol persona and the darker side of Gollum. Players must make decisions that will either lead them down the path of Sméagol or Gollum.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The physical edition of the game will also be available for consoles. Gamers can expect to embark on a perilous journey across Middle-earth, experiencing the iconic lore that inspired the game's developers.

With just over two months until the game's release, fans can get a sneak peek of the game's fresh gameplay, which features insights from the developers. — Geeks Republika
