Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection

REVIEW | Nintendo, U-Force me to do this.

yep.
Motion sensor tech ahead of its time.

THE best things in life is never always what you wanted, so with that in mind, after an innocent stroll through the usual dinky shop types, I stumble upon what I thought was the greatest find ever.

But I was dead wrong. Enter the U-Force

Striking fear where it is needed

A little background, motion sensor technology has been around for ages, so when one company came in and tried to cash in this wildly untested tech, we have what can be described all over the net a suck-a-tron. Here's the commercial for this thing.

To be fair though, this peripheral was way ahead of its time, it was only after Nintendo came out with the Wii did motion sensor had made sense in gameplay wise.

Anyway, to play the U-Force now, what with our advanced knowledge and uses of motion controls, you will quickly realise how often you will be schooled so easily by a goomba in the first stage of Super Mario Bros.

There are other games in which this controller (?) works, but good luck in trying or even attempting to pass the first three minutes into the game as the U-Force loses its signals and you find yourself dying in yet another embarassing manner, i.e getting beat up by Glass Joe in Punch Out.

The verdict? Its a great novelty item, loads of notalgic value but to play with this would only spell your imminent doom.

mmm clammy.
Great on designs, Poor on uses.
now, which mode to pick?

Honorable mention goes to the Genesis Activator and the EyeToyp for the PS2.
