An 8-bit Map of the World from Google
It's a pixelated world after all.
Google, you bloody geniuses. Just when you think that things couldn't get any more retro, out comes this wonderful wonderful (yes, I said it twice) ad and app of what the world map would look like if it was in 8-bit.
Of course it's an April Fool's trick, (said he sobbingly).
When you do hit the video below, it does tell a lot of how old gamers like us do appreciate things like these popping out in the net for no obvious reasons, and that modem! Classic!

Google Maps is now available for 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment Systems (NES). Availability in Google Store is TBD but you can try it on your browser by going to http://maps.google.com and clicking "Quest" in the upper right hand corner of the map.
