NEWS | Adventure RPG 2021: Moon Escape Launches for Nintendo Game Boy
DESPITE pushing 40, the Game Boy is receiving yet another game release in the form of an open-world action-adventure RPG 2021: Moon Escape developed by Montreal-based Retro publisher Incube8 Games and indie developer Mike Yamato.
2021: Moon Escape is set in a galaxy ravaged by an unprecedented war, where players take on the role of Tars Nunien, a paladin of the Marked Brotherhood. Nunien's only mission is to return the enemy war plans to the capital planet Astra Nova, in hopes of organising a last desperate defence against the terrible Kisur Barbarians.
The game features real-time combat, character customisation through skill trees and upgradable equipment, main quest dungeons with optional shrines, and an alternative ending based on the player’s choices. The game's standard edition includes a sealed box, a clear cartridge, a clear cartridge protector, an instruction booklet, a sticker sheet, and a silkscreened PCB with artwork on the backside.
Developed by Yamato, 2021: Moon Escape is an adventure-based game that focuses on exploration, combat, and character progression. Players will need to survive the constant threats of the game's world and succeed in their mission. The game also features an intense and emotional story as a background to the exploration experience.
The standard edition physical cartridge will set gamers at USD $59.99 and the digital version at $8.99, both are available now on Incube8 Games' website. The game will also be released on Nintendo Switch in the second week of May in a self-released digital format, running on the same DMG version of the game. A demo of the game is available on Mike Yamato's itch.io page.
As an open-world adventure game with real-time combat, 2021: Moon Escape offers a unique experience that fans of the genre are sure to enjoy. With its focus on character progression and story, players can immerse themselves in the game's world and create their adventure. — Geeks Republika
