NEWS | Four New Gameplay Features in Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, January 20, 2020 - Let's take a look at some of the new features that will be included in the updated version of Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate that is set to arrive next month.
Released on mid-Ocotber 2018 in US and Europe, Warriors Orochi 4 is a mashup between Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors as you take a three-man team and battle against a horde of enemies on a battlefield. With the Ultimate update, developer Koei Tecmo Games is adding new game elements which they hope to intrigue fans into taking a double dip.
1. New Characters
The game originally features 170 playable character, but with Ultimate, the update brings additional character to 177 in total. The new additions include:
- Joan of Arc from Bladestorm: the Hundred Years War
- Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden/Dead or Alive
- Achilles from Warriors: Legends of Troy
- Gaia the Greek personification of Earth
- Hades The Greek god of death
- Yang Jian a Chinese mystic
- Perseus, a demigod of Zeus and Greek Hero
2. New Infinity Mode
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate has Trial of Zeus, an all-new Infinity mode, where a three-player party attempts to clear the trials of 12 towers, with dungeons representing each sign of the zodiac. Combat gets tougher as enemies gets stronger with each advancement up the tower.
Fortunately, clearing the trial lets gamers will earn experience points, unlock characters, and strengthen weapons.
3. Ranking Up in Ultimate
In Ultimate, you can rank up certain abilities, either through Infinity mode or through the game’s main story, the more you play as certain characters. When a character who has been raised to level 100 will return to a rank of 1, enabling you to further strengthen them and expand their skill tree.
Meanwhil, promotion can be performed a total of 10 times, empowering you to boost favorite characters to the limit, creating the ultimate warriors to take on Odin’s mysterious army.
4. "Deification" for all
In addition, the powerful Sacred Treasures can now be interchanged among characters. In the past, this was fixed for each individual, but in Ultimate, you can now play with your favorite combination of magic, unleashing fierce combinations like never before.
Also new in Ultimate is Yang Jian’s special ability to deify in battle. Until now, deification could only be used by characters who are selected for eight special bracelets. Now, Yang Jian can deify without using a bracelet, opening the eye on his forehead and unleashing a unique magical spell.
Pre-order bonus receives an exclusive 'Dark Horse from the Underworld' special mount. Early adopters will get be able to download additional 'Gaia' bonus costume for free.
Infinity mode, alongside additional gameplay elements coming for Consoles and PC on February 14, 2020. Pre-orders are available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
