NEWS | Streets of Rage 4: Latest Update Brings More Than 300 Improvements and Custom Survival Mode

Dotemu, along with co-developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, has released a new content update for Streets of Rage 4. The update, which brings more than 300 improvements, is available on PC via Steam, GOG, the Windows Store, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

To celebrate the release of the new update, a 50% off sale is being offered on the game’s base price and the Mr. X Nightmare DLC on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo eShop. Specifically on Steam, players will be able to take advantage of a 50% discount on the bundle including Streets of Rage 4 and its DLC.

The new update includes a Custom Survival Mode, which debuted as part of the Mr. X Nightmare DLC, and provides a unique new way to enjoy Streets of Rage 4’s spectacular combat. The mode grants players full control over the innovative, outlandish roguelite beat-em-up gauntlet. The update also features co-operative moves that empower players to take their combo-driving teamwork to the next level while dishing out some serious hurt to the city’s seediest criminals.

Streets of Rage 4, released in 2020 as the long-awaited follow-up to the classic 90’s trilogy of games, is the continuation of the classic beat em’ up series. It received critical praise for its faithful evolution of the franchise’s signature action and surpassed more than 2.5 million copies downloaded. The title features new and returning characters, stylish hand-drawn artwork, fresh combat abilities and mechanics, retro pixel character unlocks, and a soundtrack crafted in homage to the sound and style that made the original games so popular.
