NEWS | Explore the Dark World of Medhram in Hunt the Night, a Retro-Style Action-Adventure

DANGEN Entertainment has finally released the highly anticipated dark fantasy action RPG 'Hunt the Night' for PC platforms. Inspired by iconic titles like The Legend of Zelda and Bloodborne, Hunt the Night offers a retro-style action-adventure experience with a unique blend of fast-paced gameplay and dark fantasy lore.

In Hunt the Night, players assume the role of Vesper, a valiant member of 'The Stalkers,' a group of humans who have discovered how to wield the power of darkness against the horrid creatures that dominate the night. Set in the 9th Age of Humanity, where the cycle of the day is controlled by humans and the night is plagued by fearsome monsters, the game takes players on an epic journey to save humanity from annihilation.

The story of Hunt the Night revolves around Vesper's quest to prevent the Night from consuming every last bit of light and humanity. As a Stalker by birthright and the daughter of a traitor, Vesper embarks on a desperate mission to save the remnants of humanity as the shadows grow longer, both in the world and in her mind.

The game features a fast-paced dynamic combat system as players can dash through enemies while unleashing powerful combos, utilising a variety of weapons and dark powers. Players are allowed to switch between melee and ranged attacks seamlessly, creating thrilling and strategic combat sequences. Players will face intense and challenging boss battles against ancient horrors of the Night, where learning attack patterns and weak points will be crucial to survival.

In addition to the combat, Hunt the Night offers a deep customisation system, allowing players to upgrade and customise Vesper's build according to their preferred gameplay style and to adapt to different bosses. Players can choose from various upgrades and equipment options, such as Critical Damage, Life Steal, Poison, Close Combat, and Firepower, among others. Collecting resources such as Sanguine vials, Crow Feathers, Moonstones, and Noctilium will boost Vesper's stats and prepare her for the daunting challenges ahead.

The game also features a rich and immersive world to explore. Medhram, the game's setting, offers a combination of action-adventure gameplay and dark fantasy lore. Players will navigate through treacherous dungeons filled with traps, enemies, puzzles, and challenges, and discover all sorts of locations, from ancient cathedrals and libraries of knowledge to lost kingdoms and devastated floating cities.

As a member of The Stalkers, players can also accept Hunts at the Crow's Nest, where they track down and hunt down the most powerful creatures of the Night. Completing hunts will reward players with enhancements to their health and dark energy bar, making them stronger and more capable of facing the Night.

In addition to the thrilling gameplay, Hunt the Night features an engaging storyline with intriguing secondary characters. Players will meet various characters throughout the game, each with their own tragic past and stories to uncover. The world of Hunt the Night is on the brink of the abyss, and players will have the opportunity to explore its depths and discover the secrets that lie within.

Another highlight of Hunt the Night is its immersive and adapted music, created in collaboration with Hiroki Kikuta, the renowned composer behind Secret of Mana. The game's soundtrack adds depth and emotion to every moment, boss battle, and location, enhancing the overall gaming experience. — Geeks Republika
